My twitter page says “Grew up south side of Chicago. Grandparents had a dairy farm in WI. I take pictures, grow things, and sew to stay sane.”
As though that says anything about who I am. Here’s a link that will tell you more if you’re interested. It involves pie.
The good news is who I am is usually reflected in my sewing or painting, which changes depending on my mood or work demands. But I’m willing to share some of my projects in the hopes that it might inspire someone else to express themselves. And together we can be creative –in art, in life, and perhaps on this blog.
Trends come and go. The one thing I’ve learned is that many people are at their highest selves when creating–either for themselves or for loved ones.
“I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart.” –Vincent Van Gogh
“I may not look it right now, but you catch me on a good day, I’m in my prime.” –Diana Nyad, at 64.
“The generosity of the earth is not an invitation to take it all.” –Botanist and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Here’s to creativity. Let’s go make some generous art.
